Around the lab

Second-instar Bythotrephes with developing broodsac, viewed through a dissecting 'scope. She must be starving, as there's no food in her gut!
I call her "Dreamy Bytho". Not a very useful shot for scientific metrics, but pretty (I think).
A well-fed Daphnia ambigua (one of the smallest daphniid species) carrying two embryos in her brood chamber--each equipped with a couple of lipid droplets, I might add!
A Chaoborus larva...looking pretty smiley. :)
Bythotrephes bioassay in progress. A peek inside one of the climate-controlled growth chambers at the FLAMES lab.
With Mel Shapiera (now in the midst of her M.Sc. at the Memorial University of Newfoundland), decked out in XL Tyvek suits for some serious base washing.
My first research stint. Caring for tadpoles at Trent U.
The tadpole tanks and set up for bioassays.
